THE LOST TEXT
Why Was It Never Found?
(9) Genesis 1:5 "And God called
the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the
morning were the first day.
God's just starting creation
there so you know he isn't telling you anything there.
We have searched
every passage in the entire Bible that mentions the 1st day of the week.
We have found no Biblical authority for teaching that the Lord's Day is
on the 1st day of the week. Quite to the contrary, we have proven that
it is just a regular workday according to the Bible. Will you now go by
the Bible, the whole Bible and nothing but the Bible OR what some preacher
says. Believe on the Lord and keep his Sabbath
Day according to the commandment.
It's called "The Lord's
Day" for the same reason we call, "The Lord's Supper". He instituted both.
Both the Lord's Supper and The Lord's Day are memorials of His Great Works.
The Sabbath, a memorial of Creation, The Lord's Supper, a memorial of Redemption.
The Bible
tells us what day is the Lord's Day. Matthew
12:8 "For the Son of man is Lord even of the
sabbath day." Of which day does Jesus say he is Lord? Then which day is
the Lord's Day?
Exodus 20:10"But
the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God..."
(Isaiah
58:13,14)
People will say,
"Well don't you think the Resurrection is important?" It certainly is.
It is just as important that Jesus died for our sins. But we don't observe
Friday in honor of the crucifixion. God gave us a Holy Day. His law is
forever. "Moses' law" of ordinance and ceremonies was nailed to the cross.
"God's law" is the 10 commandments and they last forever. You can not continually,
knowingly sin and be saved. You can not murder, steal, commit adultery
OR break the Sabbath (4th) commandment. If you break one part of God's
law, you are guilty of breaking it all. Sin is the transgression of God's
Law (Not Moses' Law).
If you're wondering
why I keep calling the first day of the week a work day it's because God
Himself made a distinction between the 6 working days and the Sabbath Day.
(Ezekial
46:1)
(Exodus
20:8)
Is God's final decision
going to be based on a day of worship? Isn't it easy for Him to separate
the dead? Couldn't He do that based on their deeds and actions while living?
But how do you separate the living? Could this be the final test? Is it
worth your serious thought? Does your eternal soul depend on your decision
about this subject?
* Authors Note:
Some European countries are now printing calendars with Sunday listed at
the end of the week. They are trying to make Sunday into the 7th Day. This
should really scare you.
